Promptto ("we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome extension and web service that helps you save, organize, and reuse AI prompts across 195+ AI platforms. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to provide our service.
Account Data (Free & Pro)
- Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication — your name, email address, and Google account UID.
Local Storage (Free — stays on your device)
- Prompts, folders, tags, and categories you create
- Theme and UI preferences
- All stored in
chrome.storage.local— never leaves your browser unless you upgrade to Pro
Cloud Data (Pro subscribers only)
- Prompts, folders, tags, and categories synced to Google Cloud Firestore
- Theme preferences synced across devices
- Usage statistics: lifetime prompt uses, prompts created, last active date, gamification level
Payment Data (Pro subscribers)
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or billing details. We store only your Stripe Customer ID and subscription status in Firestore.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- The content of your AI conversations (chat messages, responses)
- Your browsing history (beyond detecting which AI platform tab you are on)
- Third-party analytics or advertising trackers
- Keystroke logging or screen recording
- Any data from non-AI-platform websites
We do not sell your data to third parties.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you and manage your account
- To sync your prompts, folders, and settings across devices (Pro)
- To process and manage your Pro subscription via Stripe
- To display your usage statistics and gamification progress
- To respond to support requests sent to support@promptto.ai
4. Data Storage & Security
Free users: All prompt data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. No prompt data is transmitted to our servers.
Pro users: Prompt data is synced to Google Cloud Firestore, hosted on Google's infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Firebase Authentication handles sign-in securely using OAuth 2.0.
Payments: All payment data is handled by Stripe, Inc. and subject to their Stripe Privacy Policy. We never store raw payment card data.

6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — view all prompts and settings from within the extension
- Export your data — export all prompts and folders (Pro feature)
- Delete your account — request deletion of your account and all associated cloud data at any time
- Opt out of sync — use the extension in free mode; no data leaves your device

7. Children's Privacy
Promptto is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@promptto.ai and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the extension or email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Promptto after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
